How You Can Help

There are many ways that you can help to end partner abuse in our communities, including:

• Find out all you can about partner abuse. Browse the "About Abuse" section of this website, or contact someone in your community who has information on the topic. Libraries often have wonderful resources.
• Familiarize yourself with local resources targeted at people experiencing abuse. A list of agencies in your area can be found in the front of your Saskatchewan Direct West phone book, or on the Abuse Help Lines page of this website.
• Speak out against partner abuse, and violence in general, whenever you have the opportunity.
• Support your local shelter, outreach program, or other organizations that are working to eliminate violence in our communities.
• Remember - the better informed you are, the better you will be able to help!  

How you can support your local shelter and outreach program . . .

Violence against women and children is a community problem that requires action and involvement by all citizens. Shelters and outreach programs depend on the support of their respective communities to continue to provide women and their children much needed safety, support, and a chance at a new beginning. You can support your local shelter/outreach program by;

• participating in fundraisers;
• making a tax-deductible financial contribution;
• donating high quality clothing, toiletries, and household goods; and
• volunteering your time to the local shelter/outreach program.
